Essex County Council have announced a temporary speed limit of 40mph on the B1026 Wigborough Road/Layer Road that may affect residents. It is effective from 1st March 2010 and will last up to 18 months.
EFFECT OF THE ORDER: To temporarily reduce the speed limit to 40mph speed limit on that length of B 1026 Wigborough Road/Layer Road in the Parish of Layer-de-Ia-Haye in the Borough of Colchester from its junction with Waterworks Close (the start of the existing 30MPH speed limit) southwards to a point 400 metres south of the existing access to Billets Farm.
The temporary speed limit is scheduled to commence 1 March 2010 for 18 months or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting, and is required for the safety of the work force and public to facilitate the reconstruction of the B 1026 across The Causeway at Abberton Reservoir.
The Order will come into effect on 1 March 2010 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier
