County Councillor Report: The road surface along this stretch mainly from the Kings Head to Peldon is full of subsidence areas and is under investigation by Highways to establish the reason for this before repair work can take place. The most serious pot holes will be reported to the County Councillors before Friday for immediate attention.

County Councillor Report was previously circulated including plans to make Colchester Town Centre streets safer, greener and healthier. Speeding is a huge problem all over the county with the network being back to approximately 82% of the volume it was prior to Covid-19. Over the last year we have dealt with the usual complaints of speeding traffic, dog fouling, various noise related problems, potholes, flooding, planning issues and much more. Many of these are outside our powers and were passed on to our Borough and County Councillors to whom we owe sincere thanks.
Speeding through the village caused ongoing concern. We organised a successful public meeting chaired by Kevin Bentley (ECC Highways portfolio holder) and attended by Police and Highways officers. Several strategies to improve matters were identified and we await their fuller investigation and implementation by ECC Highways.
