Draft minutes of the meeting of Winstred Hundred Parish Council held at St Stephen’s Church, Great Wigborough on Tuesday 10th February 2026 at 7.30pm

Present: Cllrs Phil Gladwin, Robert Davdison, Roger Pittock, Clare Lauwerys, Wendy Ritherdon, Jinny Gale (chair)

Apologies for absence: Cllrs John Abbott, Netty Knill Jones, Liz Davdison, County Cllr Kevin Bentley, City Cllr Andrew Ellis

The minutes of January 2026 meeting were agreed by all and signed by the chairman

City Councillor Report: The hedge cutting on St Ives Road has now been fully investigated by Enforcement with all appropriate relevant bodies and has been found to be not illegal.  It is hoped for any planning application for the site to include replanting of hedgerow.

The next City Council Local Plan meeting will take place next week and as the current Local Plan has now expired the new one will be pushed on for the inspectors in November having gone through various other stages including another consultation period.

  1. Playgrounds and Playing Fields are in good order. New wooden seating for the benches on Moss Hay is being looked into.
  2. CCC Draft Local Plan – parish council comments are being compiled in readiness for any planning application submitted for the St Ives Road plot drawing particular attention to ensuing highways issues.
  3. Little Wigborough Churchyard – various bodies have been consulted on this matter and the Vicar and PCC are looking further into the situation.
  4. gov.uk domain for the Parish Council email addresses and Website – it was unanimously agreed to start the process using the company Aubergine to take us through the necessary stages.
  5. Actions and Reminder List – updated and to include as requested we have a new salt box situated at the Salcott crossroads.
  6. Banking: It was agreed by all to change our bank accounts to NatWest following unacceptable dealings with Barclays with regard to changing the mandate.
