PAWS September – Emily Entertains
On September 26th, Emily Yarrow came along to entertain 39 of our members with a night of singing and stories. Emily is a professional actor and classical and cabaret singer. She has worked in the UK and abroad on various theatre and singing/recording projects and is pursuing a career in opera and vocal recording.
Emily is also a camera operator and amateur film maker, having worked on various projects for many comedians on the circuit. She has done a number of seasons at the Cromer Pier in Norfolk.
Favourite Songs
Emily sang a number of her favourite songs, including Time to say Goodbye and Don’t Rain on my Parade, to name just two; she also told us that she would love to play Mary Poppins, her favourite character. She shared a number of anecdotes, which were highly amusing, and intertwined them with her songs. A really lovely and engaging performance which was enjoyed by us all.
Next year Emily will be performing on Fred Olson’s cruises to Barbados and Norway and I’m sure she will be a big hit there also.
Next Meeting
Our next together will be on 24th October when Jane Malyon returns with her talk on “The English Cream Tea Co.”
Whilst membership is full, we welcome visitors at a cost of £5.00 which includes refreshments.
