Borough Councillor Report: Since the elections the new set up of both CBC and ECC was explained and many of the councillors are new to their roles and so will need to learn quickly as they go along.

Public-Have Your Say: Footpath signage at Salcott will be looked into.

Declarations of Interest: Liz Davidson for planning application 211411

  1. Playgrounds and Playing Fields are in good order and the grass is being cut regularly. Salcott roadside hedge needs addressing and will be carried out shortly. Funding grants already secured for the new playground equipment at Peldon were explained and hopefully with one result outstanding we are getting near the required amount for this project to proceed.
The new netting/ladder for the multi-frame at Salcott at a cost of £655 was agreed by all and will be fitted in due course.
  2. Salcott Telephone Box: The electricity will be disconnected in month or so and it was agreed by all for the contractors to relocate the kiosk, at a cost of £1,200, to our chosen location on the playing field which will be decided by Salcott councillors and with input from the Village Hall Management Committee. Following, cleaning, painting and fitting out needs to take place to make an inviting and presentable book swap and information hub. The Facebook page will be used to ask for volunteers with time to spare and then lists/rotas can be drawn up for setting up and future smooth running.  If anyone wants to get involved, please contact the clerk or a Salcott/Virley councillor. Insurance will be dealt with in due course.
  3. Meetings: The Peldon and Wigboroughs Community Hall was considered to be the only viable venue at present enabling adequate space and ventilation.
  4. Actions and reminder List – updated
