Draft minutes of the meeting of Winstred Hundred Parish Council held via Zoom on Tuesday 4th May 2021 at 7.30pm.
Present: Phil Gladwin, Clare Lauwerys (chair), John Walker, Netty Knill Jones, Jinny Gale, Catherine Sprott, Liz Davidson, Kevin Bentley
No organisations or public attended this meeting with reports
Apologies for absence: Wendy Ritherdon, Robert Davidson
Phil proposed, Catherine seconded and all agreed for Clare to continue as Chair, Clare proposed, Netty seconded and all agreed for Jinny to continue as Vice-Chair. Phil proposed, Clare seconded and all agreed for the clerk to continue as Responsible Financial Officer. There were no resignations or co-options.
Parish Council’s Annual Report was circulated previously and will be published in/on all communication avenues.
Financial Report was circulated and summarised as follows, as there had been no excessive or unexpected spending this year the parish council finances are in good order and with a good reserve enabling a reasonable contribution towards the new playground project at Peldon.
Confirmation of membership to EALC, NALC, CALC, SLCC – it was agreed by all to continue membership of these bodies as they all have advisory and informative value.
Minutes of March meeting and cancellation notes of April meeting were agreed by all and will be signed by the chair in due course.
County Councillor Report: As is evident many roads are being resurfacing now so extra care when driving is required. Police speed checks are taking place and the unsociable driving behaviour on the Abberton Reservoir road is being monitored. Options following the Public Speed Meeting are still being analysed for appropriate action, taking into account a cautionary note that any changes are not always welcome by everybody. The missing finger post at the Old Kings Head junction will be reinstated soon.
