Advance Notice – Closure of Colchester Road

We have been given advance notice of the overnight closure of part of Colchester Road in Peldon on 3 nights (9pm – 5am) some time between 13th June and 13th December (we will hopefully get more specific dates nearer the time).  The picture shows the approximate extent of the closure and the diversionary route that will be put in place, there will, undoubtedly, be an increase in overnight traffic flow through Peldon during these closures.

The Official Notice:

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The closure is scheduled to commence for 3 nights between the 13 June 2016 and 13 December 2016 and will be between the hours of 21:00h and 05:00h or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while lining works on Pete’s Bridge ECC No. 236 is undertaken.

The alternative route will be via B1025 Colchester Road, Layer Road, Peldon Road, Malting Road, St Ives Road, Mersea Road, B1025 Colchester Road and vice versa.
