County Councillor Report was previously circulated including plans to make Colchester Town Centre streets safer, greener and healthier. Speeding is a huge problem all over the county with the network being back to approximately 82% of the volume it was prior to Covid-19. Present: John Walker, Wendy Ritherdon, Netty Knill-Jones, Phil Gladwin, Robert Kean (chair), Liz Davidson, Jinny Gale, Clare Lauwerys, Kevin Bentley.
Apologies for absence: Clerk owing to power cut (notes for minutes taken by Clare).
The meeting was opened by the chairman and everyone welcomed.
John Walker nominated, Netty seconded and all agreed for Clare to be the chairman of this coming year who duly took over chairing the meeting.

Over the last year we have dealt with the usual complaints of speeding traffic, dog fouling, various noise related problems, potholes, flooding, planning issues and much more. Many of these are outside our powers and were passed on to our Borough and County Councillors to whom we owe sincere thanks.
Speeding through the village caused ongoing concern. We organised a successful public meeting chaired by Kevin Bentley (ECC Highways portfolio holder) and attended by Police and Highways officers. Several strategies to improve matters were identified and we await their fuller investigation and implementation by ECC Highways.

Draft minutes for Winstred Hundred Parish Council meeting scheduled to be held at Abbotts Hall Farm, Great Wigborough on Tuesday 12th May 2020.
This meeting did not take place owing to Covid-19, a Coronavirus, following government guidelines/ruling.
All enquiries and matters requiring attention are being dealt with as and when they happen via email discussion amongst the parish councillors and actioned wherever possible safely within the current restrictions.

Can You Help The Food BanksAre you off work during the shutdown? Do you use basic PPE gloves & mask when you work? If so you might be able to help a local food bank.
Some food banks are getting through as many as 50 sets a day; as you will be well aware, they are very hard to get hold of right now thanks to COVID-19! The food banks need them to protect their volunteers and their customers who are often very vulnerable.
If you have a supply you are not likely to be using any time soon, please consider donating some. We are thinking that those who work in personal services such as beauticians, nail technicians etc… could help – your donation would be very warmly received. Find your nearest foodbank on the Trussell Trust website.
